Undergoing Maintenance

I’ve had some complaints that the site was hanging when using IE 6.0, and wouldn’t load properly. I have a feeling it was due to the Template I was using and JavaScript. Not to mention Internet Explorer sucks nowadays, and can’t hang with the web 2.0 very well. I’d suggest everyone upgrade to FireFox immediately. The browser is superfast loading pages, and the features knock any other browser out of the water. Once you try it side by side, you’ll see the difference. In the mean time, please be patient as I update the site.

Thanks!

  1. You fixed it. The site looks much cleaner, good job. The only issue I see in advising users to use FireFox is they will notice some sites will not work properly with it. Providing solutions that will work in most invironments is the way to go. I am not a web developer, I am a software engineer that works for a high tech engineering company, so I am basing my opinion from past experience.

  2. True, but my experience is that there are soo many differences between browsers, that it’s nearly impossible to find the ‘perfect’ fit. As soon as you think you have it, technology has changed, and now it’s back to having problems again. Since switching to FireFox, I’ve yet to notice any sites not work for me, or even have minor problems. FireFox seems to work out any problems before displaying the page. I’m glad you spoke up tho- I see that nearly 70% of my visitors use IE 6 or 7. I appreciate you pointing it out- I would’ve had no idea there were any problems at all. Please let me know if you find anything else- I’m still fixing things here, but should be done today…

  3. no problem, though you may want to add email notification to comment responses similar to the other blogs. I added a comment to your Tempe rehab in regard to the numbers. By the way you pointed out in your Tempe rehab that you ran into issues with contractors, I know a dry waller that did 6 rooms in my house for a bargain price. Hey has 20+ years of experience, does not work for a company, hey works on his own (east valley). If you are interested I will give you his name and number.

  4. huh. I’m surprised it doesn’t come with one. I’ll take a look and see. Sure thing- shoot me over his info. I have found a good one since then, but- contractors constantly come and go- so I’m always on the search for good ones.

  5. Here we go- just installed the comment notification and should be working great now. Let me know if you have any problems.

  6. BTW- it IS possible to subscribe via RSS to the comments as well. I’m curious as to how well that works- I’ve yet to test it out…

  8. ok- you bet! Thanks for the info on him as well- I’ll give him a shout on our next project!

  9. Frank-
How we doin here? Is the site still functioning for you? I’ve made some interior code changes, just want to make sure it’s working fine still. Let me know if you have any problems.
    Thanks!
